SOLDES Project aims to minimise the deformations produced in the welding process, by identifying the critical welding points to define the optimal welding sequence.
The location of these points is determined by the geometry of each piece.
The less residual stresses resulting from welding, the less post weld thermal stress relief heat treatment required; resulting in the increase of the design life of the piece and the reduction in cost of the welding process.
CTC (Fundación Centro Tecnológico de Componentes) has been a key factor in this project.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under de FEDER 2014-2020 framework in Cantabria.
SOLDES Project consists on the critical welding spots establishment in order to determine the process optimal sequence minimising distortion due to the weld heating effect.
