DEGIMA is one of the partners in this Project to improve the H&S and the accessibility to offshore windmills.
Started in 2017, this projects aims to develop innovative access systems or boat landing systems (BLS) with the following main criteria:
- The fluid-structure interaction advanced analysis allowing their geometrical optimization
- The use of specifically selected materials combined with the adequate protective coating to reduce corrosion, fatigue and biofueling over the access system, increasing as a result its durability.
ACCEDE will integrate diverse numerical testing techniques to calculate BLS as well as designing the evaluation of the expected degrading processes limiting their durability by using advanced technologies. This project is meant to be a big step in the current technique by a combination of two main disciplines, Materials Science and Fluids Mechanics.
This project will be developed over a period of 24 months with a total budget of €1.5M.
ACCEDE is funded by the SODERCAN I+C=+C 2020. The main goal of I+C=+C is to boost research and development in the regional companies.
The joint venture is formed by DEGIMA, leading the project, DRACE infrastructures and INESCO and 2 University of Cantabria research centres (IH Cantabria and LADICIM).
ACCEDE is a huge scientific-technical step forward aimed to improve and optimise the wind/marine energy sector.
